BAU 2009 – Cost calculator brings transparency to exhibitor costs
12/10/2007 - 10:17
Hüttemann Brettschichtholz Bau MünchenWhat does it cost to exhibit at BAU 2009 and how do the costs break down? Answers to these and more questions can be found in the new cost calculator for exhibitors at BAU. This tool, available on the fair´s website: www.bau-muenchen.de, gives a useful overview of stand prices and charges for ancillary services.

“We aim to give our exhibitors as good a service as possible, and part of that drive is the subject of cost transparency,” explains Markus Geisenberger, the exhibition director at Messe München GmbH responsible for BAU 2009. “The cost calculator is especially useful for new exhibitors who are taking part in BAU for the first time. It is a valuable tool for them in planning their participation.”

The cost calculator gives information on the expected costs for space, stand-construction, electricity, water, stand monitoring and cleaning. The tool, developed by Meplan, a subsidiary of Messe München, is easy to use; it guides users through the various services step by step to arrive at an estimate of costs. The results can be sent to the prospective exhibitor as a PDF file or by e-mail.

It is important to remember that the price information reached here is not a binding quote. The costs given for technical services (e.g. electricity, water, stand monitoring and cleaning) are for guidance only, and are based on Messe München´s current price list for such services.

Once the prospective exhibitor has obtained an overview of the expected costs, he can go the exhibitors section on the website and click on ‘Stand Construction’ to choose a system stand configuration that suits his needs. If required, Meplan can also design individual stand concepts, specially tuned to the needs of the particular exhibitor. Information on this option is also available online.

BAU 2009
BAU 2009 takes place from 12 to 17 January 2009 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. An estimated 2,000 exhibitors from 40 countries and over 200,000 visitors from 140 countries are expected to take part in the fair. BAU presents architecture, systems and materials for industrial, commercial and residential building, and interior fittings. Market leaders in the sector come together at this unique platform, which is organised every two years. It is the most important industry event in the European building and construction sector. The range of building materials on display at the fair is divided into product and theme sections. A high-calibre accompanying programme featuring many attractive events rounds off this sector presentation.
