Russian forwarder prototype to be assembled in 2008
12/11/2007 - 13:13

Russian company JSC “Krasnoyarskij zavod kombajnov” will assemble its first forwarder prototype in 2008. The new models will be developed as part of a cooperation program with other manufacturing companies of the “Traktornye zavody” group, including JSC Kraslesmash and Danish company Silvatec. The project for the first Krasnoyarsk forwarder has been approved by specialists of the group, and work has already begun on designs for the new machine. Next year, designers plan to release two modifications of the forwarder.
“The new model will consist of the carrier vehicle and special equipment designed for loading and unloading of timber. This machine does not yet exist in Russia, and it is planned to work in tandem with the harvester from Danish company Silvatec,” said the deputy general designer for special equipment at the JSC “PKTI kombajnostroeniya”, Yury Solomin. According to specialists’ calculations, production of new types of equipment will make it possible to increase production capacity of the Krasnoyarsk combine factory by 20-25%.
“Only the collaboration of technological processes with the participation of all enterprises of the new association in the “Traktornye zavody” group will make it possible to reduce expenses and ultimately create equipment which will be able to compete against existing machines of other companies,” said the executive director of the Krasnoyarsk combine factory Andrei Volf.
