26/01/2006 - 00:00
From February 20-23, 2006, the furniture supply industry will present their product innovations at ZOW in the extended and modernized Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Center, Halls 19-23. The organizer, Bielefeld-based Survey, has used the redevelopment of the site to revamp their use of the space, to further increase the quality of service for exhibitors and visitors and to enhance the overall program with various themed highlights. “Innovations Scouting” will present impressive product developments from within the industry.
“E3S" - a special exhibit exclusive to ZOW - will present the many facets of the materials of the future: Solid Surfaces (mineral compund materials) as well as Engineered Stone. And February 23rd will see the first Architects’ Day to be held at ZOW.

Facilities at the site have improved with the construction of the new Halls 22 and 23 to make ZOW an even more attractive event. Around 600 exhibitors from approx. 30 different countries are expected at ZOW's 12th show. The early planning had included the use of the new Hall 22 only for ZOW 2006, but now level 2 of
Hall 23 - also part of the new development – is available as additional exhibition space.
New Color-Coded System
With ZOW 2006’s new and relaxed space concept, the distribution of exhibitors in the various halls has been changed. An easy-to-follow color-coded system provides the location of the individual exhibitor centers in Halls 19-23. The “Hardware: Furniture in Motion” hub is in Hall 19 (purple), “Elements & Systems: Furniture with Added Value” in Hall 20 (orange), “Materials and Surfaces: Furniture Protection & Style” in Halls 21 (red), 22 (green) and 23 (blue). There will be plenty of site plans at ZOW as well as Information Points with multilingual staff at the three North, West and South visitor entrances and in the individual halls to ensure that trade visitors have immediate access to information at all points and can easily find their way. If you would like a three-dimensional guided tour before the event, please go to www.zow.de where you can take a short, virtual tour around the ZOW halls.
Generous use of space allows for pleasingly broad aisles and greater exhibition space along the sides of the aisles. This in turn will provide greater display flexibility and should allow the event to go off without a hitch, creating an altogether congenial show atmosphere. A further restaurant in Hall 22 which seats 340 now increases the choice for keeping body and soul together at ZOW. Altogether over 25% more space will be available for forums and refreshments in 2006. The official ZOW Press Conference will be held for the first time in the new Symposium Hall on the Upper Floor between Halls 22 and 23. The Press Lounge is on the Mezzanine Floor of Hall 22.
Innovations Scouting: A great Instinct for Innovation
For the fourth time in a row, ZOW´s “Innovations Scouting” initiative will seek out the top innovations from furniture suppliers at ZOW 2006. Last year, more than 70 exhibitor companies put themselves forward to be ranked among the selected Ten for Innovation. In the new round of entries for “Innovations Scouting”, the expert jury of furniture manufacturers and specialists are expecting another plethora of impressive solutions in design, functionality and sheer novelty. All the innovation proposals which have been entered can be viewed on the www.zow.de website. Furthermore, the ten ideas chosen by the jury on February 21 will be formally introduced during the press walkabout following the press conference. Any exhibitors who would still like to take enter their most interesting product innovations have until February 2, 2006, to apply.
ZOW as seen through the Eyes of Architects
A new highlight is Architects' Day on February 23, the last exhibition day of ZOW. This is the opportunity for all those exhibitors who would like to introduce their specialist know-how and product ranges directly to planners and decision-makers and receive feedback. This new ZOW platform offers architects and ZOW exhibitors alike the opportunity to explore unfamiliar territory and to use the experience for their own practice. Architects will have a glimpse into the exciting - but perhaps up until now unknown - world of furniture suppliers’ products and materials. ZOW exhibitors can in turn use these face-to-face discussions and feedback on their products to experience development for once through the eyes of architects. This intensive exchange of ideas is bound to give both parties a wealth of inspiration to take home with them from ZOW.
