Werksschließungen bei Canfor

Canfor, Kanadas größter Sägwerkskonzern für Nadelholz, kündigte am Donnerstag an, eine Reihe von Werken vorübergehend zu schließen. Die genaue Zahl ist unbekannt. Grund ist der unsichere Ausgang der laufenden Tarifverhandlungen.

Die Zeit der Schließungen entspricht einem Produktionsvolumen von ca. 50 Mio. Boardfeet, etwa 115.000 Kubikmeter.

Zusätzlich gingen etwa 21 Mio. Square Feet, ca. 1,9 Mio. Quadratmeter Produktionsvolumen durch ein Feuer im Werk Fort Nelson verloren.
