| Finland: Turnover of construction enterprises grew by 13,9 per cent in the May to July period |

The turnover of construction enterprises grew by 13.9 per cent in the May to July period of 2008 when compared with the corresponding three-month period of the year before. In July 2008, construction enterprises' turnover grew by 17.3 per cent from the previous July. These data derive from the preliminary index of turnover of construction compiled by Statistics Finland.
In the May to July period the turnover of building construction enterprises grew by 13.0 per cent and that of civil engineering construction enterprises by 16.4 per cent from the corresponding period of the year before.
The sales volume of construction enterprises grew by 7.2 per cent in the May to July period when compared with the corresponding period of the year before. The sales volume of building construction enterprises in the corresponding period grew by 7.4 per cent and that of civil engineering construction enterprises by 6.7 per cent. In July 2008 the sales volume of construction enterprises grew by 10.7 per cent from July 2007. The sales volume of building construction enterprises grew by 11.5 per cent in July and that of civil engineering construction enterprises grew by 8.2 per cent when compared with July 2007.
The volume index of enterprises' sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series. Building costs rose by 4.3 per cent from July 2007 to July 2008. |
